As the sun goes down…

As I watch the sun go down, I think about another day that begins somewhere else in the world. As I see the day passing by, I think about someone looking at the day that’s yet to begin. That someone might be a friend, sitting in the other corner of the world, watching the sun rise as I watch the sun set.

Then I admire my sun, as I think of someone admiring their sun. And this is what I see:

As I see the sun traversing continents, planets and milky waves, I wonder what he longs for. Then I listen to the sunset. I hear his silent sigh as he rests deep in the arms of the horizon. Like a lover, longing to find a place where there’ll be no partying beyond the sunset.

I’ve always loved sunsets since I was a child. My dad used to make sure we were outside playing or really watching the sun go down. Then we grew up and we started following sun sets. Our trips used to be from sunset to sunset. We would start from one sunset and pick the place where we want to see the next sunset. We would drive all day and all night long just to see the perfect sun set. Some places had the most spectacular sunsets, Greece, Taj Mahal in Agra are some of them.

Well, you know Cat loves sunsets too because that’s when she sees Rosaline. But Ian was telling me that these days she gets very grouchy as the day ends. I know, because she misses Rosaline and obviously, me too. Remember, I was talking about Cat’s birthday, so a lot of mails poured in with suggestions about what I should do for her birthday. And somebody even took pains to create this presentation. See for yourself and tell me what do you think?
